CZ BREN 3 Enters Service with the Armed Forces of Montenegro

The latest generation of CZ BREN 3 rifles manufactured by Česká zbrojovka (CZ) is entering service with the Armed Forces of Montenegro. The first firearms have already been delivered to the country, making Montenegro the first country to introduce this modern platform into service.

The delivery is part of a project aimed at modernizing the armament of the Montenegrin Armed Forces, implemented in cooperation with the Czech Republic. In addition to CZ BREN 3 rifles, the project also includes other small arms, accessories and ammunition supplied by companies of the Colt CZ Group.

“The first introduction of the CZ BREN 3 into service with a foreign military represents an important milestone for us. We greatly appreciate the trust that the Armed Forces of Montenegro have placed in our latest CZ BREN 3 platform. We are pleased to contribute to the modernization of their armament with a solution that meets the requirements of today’s armed forces. This delivery also confirms the further development of CZ’s cooperation with armed forces around the world,” said Jan Zajíc, CEO of CZ.

The CZ BREN 3 represents the latest generation of the proven CZ BREN rifle family. The design of this platform builds on experience gained through the long-term use of previous generations by armed forces and law enforcement agencies and was developed with an emphasis on high reliability, durability, ergonomics and versatility to meet the requirements of today’s military users.

The first delivery was officially presented in Montenegro on 7 October 2026 in Danilovgrad, with representatives of the Montenegrin Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces of Montenegro in attendance.
